Graduation concert - End of Academic year 2020-2021

The 2020-2021 school year has started and we are extremely happy to share with you some great news about our music programs.

It has been our goal since many years to expand the Barenboim-Said for Music project in Palestine and to provide more young, talented, Palestinian students the opportunity to study and play classical music at the highest level. As part of our efforts to achieve these goals, we have worked very hard to make our project more visible both locally and internationally. Based on our continued growth over the past few years, we recently applied for a sizable grant that would enable us to move forward in several important areas.

It is our pleasure to announce that the Barenboim-Said Center for Music has started the new school year in a new building, we want to thank the German Federal Foreign office for believing in our project and supporting our growth. This tremendous support enabled us to move to the old Qattan Foundation premises in the center of Ramallah and all our music activities will be focused there. This beautiful place offers our students an elegant environment to study music and perform concerts as we attempt to reach out to new audiences and encourage more Palestinians to enjoy classical music.

This support has also positively affected our staffing and class options at the Center. Simon Ibanez will join us this year as the Clarinet teacher, in addition to that, we have added another violin teacher, Naseem Rimawi, who has started in the beginning of September, and our part-time teachers plan to offer increased hours - in addition to teaching more students.

 سنة ٢٠٢٠/٢٠٢١ الدراسية قد بدأت وإننا في غاية من السعادة لمشاركتكم بعض الأخبار الرائعة عن برامجنا الموسيقية.

لطالما كان هدفنا منذ سنوات عديدة توسيع برنامج بارينبويم سعيد للموسيقى في فلسطين وتوفير المزيد من المواهب الفلسطينية الشابة فرصة لدراسة وعزف الموسيقى الكلاسيكية بأرقى المستويات. كجزء من جهودنا لتحقيق هذه الأهداف، قمنا بالعمل بشكل مكثف لجعل مشروعنا واضحًا سواء على الصعيد المحلي والعالمي. إستنادًا على نموّنا المتواصل على مدار السنين الأخيرة، تقدّمنا مؤخرا لمنحة كبيرة التي من شأنها أنا تمكننا من المضي قدمًا في عدة مجالات مهمة.

إنه لمن دواع سرورنا أن نعلن لكم أن مركز بارينبويم سعيد للموسيقى قد افتتح السنة الدراسية الجديدة في مبنى جديد، كما ونتقدم بالشكر لمكتب وزارة الخارجية الألمانية لإيمانهم بمشروعنا ودعمهم لنمونا. نتيجة لهذا الدعم الكبير تمكننا من الإنتقال إلى المبنى القديم لمؤسسة عبد المحسن القطان في مركز رام الله حيث ستتركز جميع فعالياتنا الموسيقية. هذا المكان الجميل يقدم لطلابنا بيئة أنيقة لدراسة الموسيقى وتقديم حفلات ضمن محاولاتنا للوصول إلى جمهور جديد وتشجيع المزيد من الفلسطينيين للإستمتاع بالموسيقى الكلاسيكية.

سيؤثر هذا الدعم بشكل إيجابي أيضًا على التوظيف وخيارات الحصص في المركز. سينضم إلينا هذه السنة سمون إيبانيز كمدرّس لآلة الكلارينيت كما وقمنا بإضافة معلم آخر لآلة الكمان - نسيم ريماوي، حيث بدأ بالتعليم في بداية شهر أيلول (سبتمبر)، وسيقومون أساتذتنا بدوام جزئي على زيادة ساعاتهم - بالإضافة إلي تعليم المزيد من الطلاب.
